I'm sure John has his part to play in all this, but he wasn't the one who made the decision, he was asked to justify it legally. Whether he was successful or not, I feel that it is Cheney, Bush, Rice, and Rumsfeld who really need to be at the forefront of this stuff...

Anybody who knows what this guy did and still attended his class was probably a staunch Republican. So they were probably clapping for him. Because torture saves lives or some bullshit fairy tale like that.
