balabingsays...Protesting for Tibetan freedom make you look like a hero in United State but doing it in China is just asking to be water boarded.
Here's an idea for his next project. Why don't he put on a robe and turban, then burn a few American flags and yell death to America in the middle of New York Time Square?
NeuralNoisesays...Babbling, the story is a bit more complex thant that. I went to grad school with him and he is not the idiot your comment would make it seem. He was invited to go to China for an Art Exhibit, and was disinvited for his political stance. He chose to go anyway. Not the brightest idea but he puts his balls where his mouth is.
Here´s an idea for your next comment: put some clothes on, burn a few, say, cigarrettes and stop living in your own bellybutton.
I have to say your comparison of China and America was at least curious.
Here is some more info´about JP:

balabingsays...I thought about it and I still like my idea. OK, maybe burning the American flag is too extreme, and he might put himself in serious danger. How about just put up a few paintings of Osama Bin Laden all over NY? He can probably use the same laser stencil format. Filming the bystander's reactions and reporting on homeland security's treatment of him should make a very interesting video.
Also, I'm typing this comment fully clothed. I quit smoking years ago. And to the best of my knowledge, I'm not living in my own bellybutton.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to neuralnoise's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
NeuralNoisesays...Sorry if I sounded too harsh.
The difference would be that putting up pictures of bin laden means you are taking sides with the guy that killed x many americans.
Going to China to use a projector where passer-bys can insert their messages (pro-tibet), although a recipe for being arrested, is not the same thing at all.
But I guess your point is: Both China and the US are totalitary regimes, and manifestation of opinions that are anti-establishment will land you in trouble. Point taken.
I guess what I disliked was comparing Tibet and Taliban. (comparing US and China is fine with me)

siftbotsays...Sending this video to Beggar's Canyon to plea for a little attention - beg requested by original submitter neuralnoise.
Yogisays...I don't agree with the US is a totalitarian regime comment. We have amazing freedoms that were fought for and won in America. The sad thing is even with all these freedoms we don't organize much to change. It's not like Columbia or some place where you speak against the government and get your brains blown out.
