Is Apollo 18 Real?

Everyone wants to know if Apollo 18 was a real mission. It was, but it wasn't at all like the movie.

According to the NASA flight rotation, the cancelled Apollo crews might have been:
Apollo 18: Dick Gordon (CDR),  Vance Brand (CMP),  Harrison Schmitt (LMP)
Apollo 19: Fred Haise (CDR),  William Pogue (CMP),  Gerald Carr (LMP)
Apollo 20: Pete Conrad or Stu Roosa (CDR),  Paul Weitz or Don Lind (CMP),  Jack Lousma (LMP)

Why does every "vintage" story use Big Band Jazz background music? We are talking 50 years later here - why not use period-correct "vintage" music from the 60's and 70's ?
