why would they cage a dog in a area that small. I hope it chews up their couch.

Our Jindos do the exact same thing. Husky/Jindo/Shiba inu/Shepherd dogs all need a lot of exercise. They hate being caged up even when they are being locked in space with the size of a living room. They'll chew up the gate and always escape to the larger area.

Shit shit human beings for putting a dog that big in a cage that small.

Probably a transport cage, and probably just put in the room to showcase its escape skills.
