shuacsays..."It hilariated me."
Cringe.
eventualentropysays...Sucker
Tymbrwulfsays...Clever. I like it.
ravermansays...Don't know about calling that a "Win".
If you're opponent doesn't want to play against you because you're a dick. Thats not winning. More of a failure to play.
Xaxsays...Er, so the strategy is to trick the other person into quitting the game? Fail.
P1ggysays...It is probably a bot.

All games are a little about playing with the nubs, surely?
Press F10 for Rocket Launcher
Alt+F4 for more resources
Press the windows key to win
Press the windows key and L to win more.
That kinda stuff.
It's all in good fun.
Stormsingersays...Playing with newbs, of course...abusing and humiliating them, no. This guy is nothing more than a jackass. I wouldn't shed a tear if he was banned from battlenet. Not that they're likely to get that strict, more's the pity.
And don't call me Shirley.

VoodooVsays...Their humor is not like our Earth humor
Asmosays...I put this in the same category as zerg/gateway rushes (which is what it looks like Roche was doing anyway). Douchebaggery and a gamble, but if you get away with it, wins a win...
Seriously, a floating base, no economy and no buildings... All it would take is one void ray and it's game over, easy win in 5 or so minutes.

EMPIREsays...All is fair in love and war. It's a strategy game. He used a ruse as his strategy. If anything, he deserves points for being inventive.
Jinxsays...Nexus can't lift?????!
Hi5 to anybody that got that.
lore_weaversays...wow, so that's what bronze league looks like.
gwiz665says...How very Mike Long of him. It's really roche that's a bad player, but eh.
AnimalsForCrackerssays...From the description, I thought this was going to about about how the MMM ball (Marauders/Marines/Medivacs) > everything, with way less micro(Attack Move basically) and resources required than the other race's counters.
Roche is quite gullible and a bad SC player at that. The reason Roche didn't check for the Command Center before plopping down the Gateway was because he was attempting a common Starcraft/Warcraft "all-in" cheese tactic, akin to tower rushes. These types of tactics are one-trick ponies and only work against unassuming newbs who don't properly scout.
He basically just got outclassed in the cheese department, in part due to his own stupidity.
Retroboysays......
And people sometimes ask me why I don't play multiplayer online that often.
Stormsingersays...Spoken like a true sociopath.
It's amazing (or not) how the estimated number of griefers seems to correlate so closely to the estimated number of sociopaths in the general population. Both ride right around the 1-2% mark.
Coincidence? I think not. It takes a virtually complete lack of empathy to view other people's distress as a form of amusement...and one valuable enough to put out significant effort to attain, at that.

Draxsays...^ 0.o
legacy0100says...When the Spanish conquistadors spread disease to conquer South America, they did so with all sorts of dirty tricks and plays they could ever think of, all developed from within their own warring times. They used it once more during the Napoleonic invasion, when Napoleon has sent his generals to conquer Spain. This is when the term 'guerrilla warfare' derives from. Since the Spanish weren't able to fend off the 'Le Grande Armee' in numbers, resources, as well as military technology, they refused to fight the French in open ground as it meant a massacre.
On the surface the Spanish towns welcomed their foreign occupants, giving the soldiers shelter and food. But then the shelters were 'accidentally' burnt in the middle of the night or a curious food poisoning quickly spread amongst the French ranks. Spaniards would also introduce a young, blossoming senorita with strikingly beautiful eyes to a battle wary French captain as they share a bed at night, only to find the captain dead next morning with a rope tied around his neck.
Strategy evolves as time goes on, and it is a matter of familiarizing yourself with these new tactics. Dirty or not, he won the game by tricking the opponent without using illegal means, such as using maphack or looking at his opponent's screen. He still played within the game's rule boundaries and successfully pulled off a good con.
Now, since this video has gotten out he won't be able to pull off this trick as often because everyone has familiarized with these tactics, and the community has learned to be more cautious against such tricks. Tactical evolution
Sericsays...Abusing? Humiliating? Distress?! Pff!!
I can empathise just fine thanks :] - if I had succumbed to such a jape and watched the replay, I think I would have done something similar to the following.
'Motherfucker....' followed by a small chuckle.
It's all fun and games.

Terran hides his building by lifting off. Protoss scouts where T's base should be and doesn't find it. Terran writes a fake error message in chat, Protoss assumes Terran never connected/whatever and leaves. Terran wins by default.
For those butthurt over griefing or w/e...srsly? This is a lot less obnoxious than a 6pool, or 5 rax reaper proxy gates or any other kind of all in rush build, and those are viable strats. Maybe not good ones, but viable all the same. Part of graduating from noob is learning how to deal with this shit, and you learn by failing. This particular strat WILL fail 99% of the time, so really no need to feel bad for the guy who got tricked.

I get that, but you win...? So what? Does that affect your stats or something?
I haven't played an RTS since WarCraft 2. They annoy me now.
