How to talk like a pirate

messengersays...

Arrr, a decent primer it be, but they should refrain from usin' speech models for whom Pirate be a second language (PSL), because they often be makin' mistakes without their noticin'. For example, at 3:19, that a noun (not a pronoun) must be comin' before thar verb is made clear, specifically with the copula "to be". Yet at 5:31 the speaker states, "'Tis a fine day to sail the seas" where he should have bin sayin', "The day 'tis a fine one for sailin' the seas." Naaaar.
