Ha ha, no worries, I only knew it was Canadian, because the season 1 host was Mark Tewksburry <sp?> a former Canadian Olympic Swimmer, and when they made Canoes, it was done at a place I know in Muskoka =)

Yup, watched about 4 seconds. Perhaps I'll never know how mustard is made.

I want to know who's responsible for this insincere-sincere way of speaking. I've heard British, US and Australian versions of it since the late 90's.

I'd dare to bet it originally started as a parody of some kind, but then became a case of life imitating comedy.

I might be able to shed some light on her voice, as I know she is a native French-speaking comedian. She worked very hard on her "clean" English accent, kudos to her. Only, I don't know what's the deal with the neutral tone. We need a How it's Made of this show...
