GenjiKilpatricksays...The Nazi Party created lots of propaganda. True.
The Republican Party creates lots of propaganda. [Have you ever heard of Fox News?] True.
In what way was he being violent to compare two political parties and their use of flat out lies?
He didn't say "And you know what happened to those Nazis.. Our Allied Troops slaughtered as many as possible."
He didn't even raise his voice for fuck's sake.

Take a hint buddy.
NetRunnersays..."Isn't this folically-challenged goofus feeding America's culture of violence?"
Yes.
criticalthudsays...the republicans have outdone the nazis when it comes to propaganda. mien kampf was a starting point for a whole culture of perception management.
quantumushroomsays...Thank you, Netrunner. Intellectual honesty is always appreciated.
bareboards2says...I thought that was cool, too. However, I don't agree with it -- I don't think that this particular clip promotes violence. The point he is making is -- learn from history. Propaganda can be used to promote The Big Lie. Here's an example.
I resist changing my mind as much as the next person. I have seen some clips of Dems that make me cringe.
This isn't one of them.

Right. And since the nazis wore hats, and some Republicans wear hats, Republicans are therefore nazis.
BTW, if Fox is "biased" what the hell is all the rest of the media (matters) and hollywood?
If you don't think your 'side', be it Green or Taxocrat or Whatever does not employ propaganda and dirty tricks, you've got some studying to do.

Here's a riddle
Q: Why did the moonbat mention nazis when nazis had nothing to do with anything?
A: Because accusations of "racism" were already taken.
He didn't say "And you know what happened to those Nazis.. Our Allied Troops slaughtered as many as possible."
He didn't even raise his voice for fuck's sake.
So?

siftbotsays...Moving this video to quantumushroom's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.

Jon Stewart agrees with Q and Netrunner.
I'm still with saying that Cohen's point was about propaganda being used to mislead the public, and in a big way. He never said the words Republicans are like Nazis. He said Big Lies are like Nazis. Which is true.
NetRunnersays...@bareboards2, I limited myself to just saying "Yes" before, because I think Cohen crossed the line, and I didn't want to dilute that with a longer spiel on everything I thought about it.
Essentially, I 100% endorse what Jon said in that clip you linked.
Bottom line -- I think his overall point was accurate about Republicans trying to sell people on big lies through repetition, but the Nazi comparison wasn't necessary to get that across.
They're morons, assholes, and douchebags, not Nazis.
