neteansays...never played the game, nor seen this cutscene before.
still pretty good. Well paced, well shot and directed... so much so that I wanted more. wanted the whole story.
choggiesays...welcome ex-proby, pickleboy-
gwiz665says...I remember this was the first time I ever heard Adagio for Strings (choral) by Samuel Barber. I like the aural interaction between the beautiful haunting music and the sounds of the engines and such. I think the trailer for the game used the music as well, but with a battle going on.
The same mix of classical music can be found in the newest Hitman (Blood Money), where Ave Maria is used to great effect, and in the trailer for Dawn of War, also be Relic, who made Homeworld.

Thanks, choggie. Only took me a year and a half!
HistNerdsays...Homeworld is one of my all-time favorite games!
MSevensays...ahh i love this game...
I especially loved, how the cutscenes never showed how the kushan/higarans (that you play) actually looked.. The 2 followup games where a bit of a let down in my opinon.
BTW, I'm pretty sure that the Homeworld soundtrack and overall visual design did play a significant role in the creation of the new Battlestar Galactica.
youmakekittymadsays...one of my favorite games for atmosphere, which was impressive given that you were just looking at ships the whole time. all of the voice-over was really well written and acted.
though it's less story-based, for anyone who enjoyed the gameplay of this, you should check out a game that came out a few months ago called Sins of a Solar Empire.
