It is really strange. Because i'm a native german speaker i barely can follow the subtitles. My brain is focusing on what it hears more than on what i read. Really awkward. Tried it two times.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

that's interesting conan - I can imagine that this wouldn't work too well for a native German speaker.

Sidenote - English is supposed to sound like dogs barking to the non-english speaker.

i think i read that youtube germany is filtering out nazi stuff, they have kinda strict censorship laws about that, ironically!

i've been told english sounds like "faw de faw de faw haw faw" to lithuanians. lithuanian to me sounds like a mashup of german and italian or something.

unfortunately, german accents normally invoke nazi imagery to the english. it is a running joke that if you want to appear authoritarian and obsessed by detail, you just haf to use ze german aksent, ya? only the other day i shouted "scheise! ich kann nicht meine keyse finden!" and it was hilarious, i assure you.

i guess that hitler guy made a big impression on our collective psyche.

half of me laughs at how well it fits, and the other shudders at how such an extremely serious source could be used in something as trivial as this. Well done...but I wonder who thinks of ISketch when watching downfall...

OK, I just watched the movie (with the real subtitles), and it is very very good, not to mention deeply disturbing. My father lived under German occupation for years in Jersey, and I've toured through the bunkers and tunnels there -- mostly built by slave labour that was literally worked to death with practically no food. I find it shocking and humbling to think that we humans are capable of such atrocities in the name of following orders, and yet it has been proven over and over that we are.

I still find this video funny though.
