The interviewer brings out Hitchens' better side, the side that's hidden when he debates his opponents. I don't have the same level of contact with religious dogmatists that Hitchens must have, but I can understand how he arrives at such an antagonistic position based on his commentary here.

It must take its toll on him. Hitchens always looks like he's two breaths away from death when debating religion, either that or he is a heavy smoker.

actually, yeah. throughout the piece, i'm struck by the interviewer's abilities. very quick, well-informed. knows when to jump in, and with what.
