"I feel that the shark and I had an understanding..." uhuh. Now granted I'm just guessing too, but I think this is the level of the sharks understanding bite shit = food. It was probably in scavenging mode vs. hunting mode. No need to expend energy leaping out of the water for something that's right in front of your face.

I dunno, it just seems to me that she's attributing a degree of empathy/understanding to sharks that I'm not sure they are capable of. But then, perhaps I'm underestimating the cognitive capabilities of great whites...

It's just not a hypothesis I'd like to test with my own body.
