I've been waiting for this one. I got ahold of an (ahem) advance copy of this album back in January- great stuff- should be a monster. My best advice is to enjoy this track now... we'll all be sick of it by the end of Summer.

Gnarls Barkley is a musical collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. Their first album, St. Elsewhere, was released by Warner Music on April 24, 2006 in the UK and is set to be released May 9 in the US by Atlantic/Downtown Records.

"Crazy", their first single, has been played on BBC Radio 1 by Trevor Nelson, and Zane Lowe, since late 2005. It was made Record of the Week by Jo Whiley and Scott Mills and also Weekend Anthem by both Sara Cox and Spoony. The song gained some of its popularity due to the use of it on primetime Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe's television advert, and it was also made Record of the Week by Ken Bruce of BBC Radio 2. It was released as a single on April 3, 2006, preceded by its release as digital download and 12" vinyl single in March 2006. On 2 April, 2006, it became the first ever UK #1 based on download sales alone.[1]

In an interview with Observer Music Monthly, Danger Mouse denied that the band's name is a reference to basketball player Charles Barkley, saying "Nope. It's just like everything else on this record. There was no conscious decision about stuff."[2]

They are set to appear at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 30, 2006,[3] as well as at Lollapalooza 2006 in Chicago.

Also the album has a kick ass Violent Femmes cover of Beautiful Girl on it.

Actually a very nice song eluding to fundamental views on psychology and our awareness.

Are we crazy or delusional for recognizing our self-awareness/continuity and moreover, why are we able to possible grasp this thought?
