therealblankmanThe singer is R&B man Cee-Lo and the svengali on piano is Dangermouse. Together they form Gnarls Barkley. The album is St. Elsewhere, and was released a couple of days ago. I love this band, and hope that the'll help rekindle a greater interest in R&B music in the mainstream.

darksunThis guy was and still is Number One in the U.K charts. Hes got a Number One for this song, which is usually at a higher tempo, and he has also got Number One in the album chart.

Probably if you're already used to the studio version, this would sound a bit rough - but still a great performance, some raw emotion in that voice. And I love the 70s Eastern European flight-crew get ups.

DeanoGreat post! I saw them do a similar version on Jools Holland a few days ago and it's far more soulful, dramatic and pleasant to listen to than the CD version. I'm listening to that and it sounds flat and compressed in comparison.
