Giant stick insect emerges from Egg

A handful of hand sized Giant stick insects, long thought extinct, have been discovered on a rock pinacle off the Australian coast. The video show one emerging from its egg, part of an awareness campaign to get the residents of Lord Howe Island, where it lived until the 1920's, more amenable to the eradication of the islands invasive black rat population, so the "walking stick" can be reintroduced.
