Before Little Britain Matt Lucas used to appear on the random but excellent cult gameshow Shooting Stars, in character as George Dawes (later to become the nephew of the Little Britain character Marjorie Dawes). He was the scoremaster ("What's the scoooores, George Dawes!?!")and also popped up throughout the episode doing bizzare little sketches.

Little Britain was great for the first series only I reckon, but Matt Lucas is the real talent in the partnership. Rock Profile was pure genius, I miss Play UK

Little Britain was great.. you're just blinded by all the awesome.

Little Britain is great, once. Then they do exactly the same sketches again and again and again. My advice to anyone curious about the show is to watch one episode, enjoy it, then never watch another as long as you live.

Could not agree more with the above post.. except perhaps to disagree slightly that you'd enjoy the entire episode... 50% of the first episode you ever watch will make you go "haha" or "hah", and then you'll stop.

Tell you what's hilarious though, the one he did on this christmas special... "1942........1942........i invented the shooooeeeee"
