rougyWow.
Kind of scary that a bloated egomaniac like Rush is the de facto head of the GOP.
It's also kind of scary that nobody in the GOP has the balls, or even the brains apparently, to stand up to him.
evanAs I watching this I was waiting for the punchline.
Except I thought the punchline was gonna be delivered by Eric Cantor as "Rush can suck my dick."
Disappointing.
jdbatessays...OMG, He burned himself with that comment after they showed mulitple clips of them saying the exact opposite!

Of course republicans aren't going to "stand up" to Rush. Rush carries a lot of weight (haha) with the "conservative movement", who just happen to be a large part of the republican base. Piss off the conservatives and you don't get elected as a republican.
They're pretty much trapped currently. They either have to claim conservative views to get elected or change many of their stances on issues to get votes from less conservative voters (and then get slammed for "flip flopping").
I like Rush. Not because of anything about him or his views, but because of the destructive effects he is having on social conservatism. He doesn't even have a stake in it... he's just there to get listeners for his show. He doesn't care if he drags the GOP down with him... he doesn't need to win an election!
If a republican did oppose him then it would probably mean far fewer votes from Rush's listeners, so they step lightly around the issue hoping not to piss off people who either love or hate Rush.
The ship is on fire and sinking slowly. If nothing else, I'm enjoying the spectacle.
