smoomansays...fact fucking
MaxWildersays...Politifact is a tool of the liberal conspiracy. You can tell because they have the word "fact" right in their name.

Other news outlets can rightly be criticised for being inaccurate, lazy and sloppy. Fox news is not, however, inaccurate or accurate, it is dishonest. The above false statements are not mistakes. If they were mistakes, FOX would have to admit that they were mistakes and retract them. Since they dont do that, they clearly do not see them as mistakes themselves. So by definition, they are not mistakes, they are deliberate lies and distortions.
Besides, mistakes, aside from being recognized as such, redacted and apologized for by most news outlets, are usually a one-time occurrence. FOX's "mistakes" are repeated over and over, so often that FOX viewers are sure to actually hear and notice them, and believe them. This is why FOX viewers still believe Obama is a muslim, non-us born and so on.
kceaton1says...I'd have to say that The Daily Show is rebuking Fox News and PolitiFact at the same time. Fox due to the obvious and PolitiFact for correctly fact checking Jon, but not bothering to mention that if Fox is wrong on so many levels that the polls taken are essentially pointless. Their viewers are being brainwashed and a better poll to take and follow the results (and throw out the rest of the polls) is to poll on the very topics that are lies.
This is why you need to look at who is polling AND what was polled.
The Daily Show always has a retort whether they were wrong to a certain degree or not. This is what I think I see them doing here. Sort of a gentle nudge for PolitiFact.

Translation: "It may not be true, but it's what I wanted to hear."
kymbossays...Did I see that O'Reilly Factor viewers were better informed than Daily Show viewers? That's pretty amazing, really.
jiyanibisays...The problem with Politifact's analysis of Jon's comments is that they based the study on Fox viewers being ILL-informed as opposed to MIS-informed. Fox Viewers may be informed enough to know that the current president is Barack Obama, but they are also MISinformed into thinking he's a Muslim born in Kenya.
