I just finished reading the book today. One rare occasion where the movie is an accurate reflection of the book. Not an exact mirror image but the ideas presented are still mostly there.

Yeah only the ending was really tweaked, but both are successful.

He's not talking to Tyler in this scene. He's talking to a single serving female friend passenger.
