If there are history buffs out there, I would recommend reading "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt", and "Theodore Rex", especially the chapters dealing with his personal fight against Wall Street corporate monopoly. His negotiations with J.P. Morgan, and cohorts, were also very secretive, so as to avoid any suggestion of collusion. The participants typically arrived under cover of darkness and exited via back doors.
His story is still the most courageous I've read on the part of an individual politician, to advance the public interest. The first book is especially good.
