Being a pilot myself, that is an amazing landing, which would be incredibly hard to acheive, i would find it hard to do it that well with gears to be honest.

so your parents let you fly a plane ... but not sign up for a paypal account??

Lol, no, i get to fly with the Air Cadets. It's free you know, and i can earn my wings through it.

Must have been dead calm. Crosswind would have been a severe pucker factor.

Although, a far, far better pilot than seen elsewhere on the Sift, even with them under power, with landing gear.

He definitely had several things going for him. Although pilots practice emergency landings on a regular basis, so it's hardly an "oh shit" moment.

I practice emergency landings at least once a month and they are not as bad as people think, but fortunately a C-172 doesn't have the landing gear issue.
