Texas is currently debating a bill as to whether parents need to be notified before corporeal punishment is administered.

Some are afraid it will undermine the teacher's authority.

my teacher did something similar when i was in kindergarten. one of my earliest and fondest memories of why no one deserves respect that doesnt give it.

this isnt as bad as forced-drinking of hotsauce and taking cold showers, while being forced to tell why you're being punished, like that lady on Dr. Phil

This isn't corporal punishment, this is just violence. Anything done in anger, even a time out, can be negative to a child. I got spankings when I was a kid, but they were never done out of anger and I harbor no lingering resentment of traumatic. This guy, he is just a mean dick with power.
