September 9, 2009 (9/9/09) - The crown jewel of the Internet returns!

Don't Copy That Floppy 2 is a sequel to the original Software Publishers Association PSA video gem that attempted to teach kids not to copy games all the way back in 1992. The sequel was teased two months ago in a trailer under the moniker "Floppier". Now, enjoy the full majesty of a new crappy PSA about software piracy from the Software & Information Industry Association (formerly Software Publishers Association).

If you're lusting to learn more about the SIAA or the Don't Copy That 2 campaign, be sure to visit the unfortunately-named "DP's Lair" website with official information and behind-the-scenes footage.

Cameo appearances include MC Double Def DP, id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead, and 3D renders from the upcoming id Software game RAGE. And Klingons.

The anti piracy agencies and the police rewining peoples lives and fining individuals is not an entertaining or funny issue.

Im all for companies stopping bisnesses using pirate copies of software , or stopping distribution channels piracy hub websites ( not individuals on torrent) , I even think that if you are selling pirated content you should have to pay hefty fines , however I don't think that people downloading should be punished.

My first I phone game Ended up on pirate bay within 2 weeks of its release , and well I couldn't give a shit. if you make good music good software you will generally be able to make money from it despite the piracy.

what's funny is all the people doing the chasing and suing and kicking up a fuss are the people who already have all the money stuffed in there pockets.

I find it hard to believe that piracy is having a negative affect on midea bisneeses as a whole , maby specific segments but as a whole its not.

This is yet another fear-mongering PSA from the industry except with very bad taste in music. It also completely misses the point of piracy. Copying and selling copyrighted works is without a doubt illegal in every way. However, there is a huge difference between profiting from someone else's work and personal consumption. I believe fundamental changes must be made to the basic idea of IP and related policies, for the current concept is outdated and unfitting in this digital age. But until then, pirates ftw, arrrr!

Pretty much a dupe of: http://www.videosift.com/video/Don-t-Copy-that-Floppy-2-Floppier

Pretty much no. One is an extended trailer serving as an advertisement for the full video, and this one is the full video itself. I took the time to research it and make that specific case known in this video's description.

Despite this being different from the trailer, considering recent precedent that has been set regarding classification of dupes I can apparently go out and sift the same song ten times over anyway. Be thankful this at least has distinctly different content from the trailer.
