siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Audio) - requested by ant.
PlayhousePalssays...*quality .... beautiful! Why is there a lyrics advisory on this song?
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by PlayhousePals.
eric3579says...Sounds nice as its a beautiful song but pales in comparison to the way Simon and Garfunkel did the original. The feel of the song is hardly comparable with just how moving the original is done. Also just my opinion ...and of course im probably biased to some extent.
ChaosEnginesays...Well, it's marginally better than their other song....

but honestly, I'm with @eric3579; the original is much better.
siftbotsays...Disturbed - the alternative lyrics has been added as a related post - related requested by ChaosEngine.
gharksays...I'm guessing probably due to the album it's a part of - there's usually a few 'strong' words in them.
@eric3579 Yea agreed, the original is probably unbeatable - it's especially amazing considering it's a guitar and a couple of blokes - they didn't have all the fancy technology and producing we have access to these days.
What's a bit weird for me, is how the cover has one vocalist but it doesn't seem to diminish the feeling. I mean the original version is so great because of how their voices combine. It must have been quite difficult to reproduce that element of the song in such a different way.

Duncansays...Holy shit. This is Disturbed? They done good.
Asmosays...They do a heck of a lot of good covers and original music that isn't just yelling. Well, some anyway. ; )
And yeah, the original is still the best, but covers are a great way to not only interpret the original piece, but also a way to introduce it to new generations, although I do hate young douchebags raving about this "great new music" which is a cover from a 30 year old track.
Holy shit. This is Disturbed? They done good.
MilkmanDansays...I love covers, especially when they present a entirely different take on the original song (off the top of my head, say, Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal). This one was very good, but I'd go for it even more if it had a bit more of a "Disturbed" take on it -- almost *too* faithful to the original. But that is a minor nit to pick...
Thanks for the sift!
*edit* -- Not to take anything away from the original, which I agree is a fantastic song. I think that a good cover can actually enhance appreciation for the original song, too.
ChaosEnginesays...Yeah, my problem with this is that it's actually *too* similiar to the original, just not as good. I like it when bands put their own take on a cover.
Here's Sepultura's cover of Bob Marleys "War", completely different to the original

Dolbssays...There's a good interview of David Draiman on the Loudwire channel in which he talks about the production of this cover. Worth a listen on how it was put together.

poolcleanersays...This belongs on musicsift.com
iauisays...I fully agree. It's a good rendition and does the original song justice but the voice is just too autotuned for my tastes. And the whole arrangement is too... pretty. There's no 'live' feeling to it. It's just his voice and a bunch of perfect instrumentals. Like he's singing to a midi track or something.
Edit: part of what bugs me about autotuning voices is that they're actually tuned to the wrong notes, ie. equal temperament instead of the just temperament a good singer sings naturally. There's the whole bit about voice ability but if they just tuned it to the right notes I'd be happy... or at least happier...
