Crazy bridge in Siberia

570 meters long, 15 meters above the water.

OK...I drove a school bus filled with folks asleep across a 50ft stretch of river at dusk in Belize onna bridge made of ties, one for each width of a tire...This crossing is tame compared to the shrivel my stretch first go provided ....(and it's said that choggie's nuts grew three sizes that night!)

Seriously, what the heck is so great on the other side of that river that would make you think it's a good idea to cross that bridge?

You have to get to the other side to get out of the country that makes such bridges.

If anyone's interested, I believe this terrifying bit of engineering is located here, where the Baikal Amur Mainline railroad crosses the Vitim river. In the satellite view, note what appears to be a truck preparing to cross from the east bank.

Also, here's the reverse angle of this video which gives a better feel for the height of the bridge, particularly in the second half where you see the bridge from the side.

I'd have no problem walking across that bridge, but no way I'd try driving it. At least the second half had "curbs" to keep you on it, the first half was just open to the sides. I'd rather try swimming across than driving, and I can't swim.

Hey, dude? You uh... You DID realize there is a perfectly good bridge right over there ---> to the right a ways, right? Why don't you go drive on that one instead? It looks like it was made for it...

edit - Oh, and uh... In Soviet Russia, bridge crosses YOU...! ...no? Okay. Sorry.

That bridge just reminds me of Half Life 2.
Crazy to cross it but he must of had the combine on his tail. Now just need to overlay some audio effects on that footage.

This reminds me about coverage and debate about bridges falling down in the UK during a recent amount of flooding in Cumbria. Essentially river beds were swept away from bridge foundations causing them to collapse. These bridges were normal road bridges but what brought them down was the rapid amount of water in a given time period, so I'm not surprised that the person in this clip could drive over that bridge.

If they were however driving dangerously or the river was flowing above normal conditions then it'll be truly dangerous.
