jmdsays...that was weird.. why does the house have a window to the outside on the floor?
eric3579jokingly says...A bit of firefighter remodeling. The extra light will give that room a much warmer feeling.

jmdsays...that didn't answer anything. The window was well before firefighters got there.

eric3579says...Which window? I only saw the big hole they made (with axes and a saw @1:05) to get the dude out. There was a window above the hole they made, but that obviously wasn't on the floor. Am i missing something?
(edit) oh there was what looked to be some kind of tiny vent thing. That is a bit weird. Although it is Fresno. That city is pretty crazy backwards or at least it use to be

BSRsays...I thought it was a basement window. My old house in NJ had these. There used to be a coal burning furnace in the cellar. The coal delivery truck would extend a chute to the window and the coal would noisily slide down the chute into bin.

jmdsays...Basement was my obvious answer because it was a common thing in my NY houses. However they then proceeded to break apart the wall way above the window and got him out. In such a house they would have been opening up the room above the basement.
