Farhad2000says...Probably the only episode of Hannity and Colmes I liked. This is what happens when religion goes too far.
swampgirlsays...crazy
daphnesays...oops...ok...nice sift. She's a freak.
SnakePlisskensays...I'm not defending this woman in the slightest (or any religious zealot, ever) but the bible does quite famously say "Thou shalt not kill".
According to official reports it's even a specific commandment written in stone by god himself.
Funny how good christian soldiers keep forgetting that one as they empty their clips/bombs into/onto innocent men, women and children.
Farhad2000says...Snake, I think that reality has been around for eons now. Back in the Crusades for example, the Pope was miffed that Saladin took over Jerusalem. Now the Pope at the time wielded great power over the European continent, however going to war with Saladin over holy turf didn't really provide the drive necessary for massive religious conflict.
So what does the Pope do? He merely states that the killing of non-christians would mean forgiveness and place in God's kingdom up above. So all the nobility, the criminals and many pilgrims joined the Crusade. I guess no one read that whole bit in the bible about man was created in the likeness of God.
And don't get me wrong. The same applies to Islamic extremists, for example the word jihad, is misunderstood in the West. Most people think that Jihad means a war against the west/america/christianity. However Jihad means litreally 'Spiritual struggle', in islamic tradition this really refers to be vigilent against vices and sin. e.g. I have a jihad on smoking. Invoking jihad in a military context only occurs when the entire nation of Islam is under threat (am talking Nazi stlye holocaust extermination).
Extremists to drive suicide bombers and the like, of course invoke Jihad because they think blah blah america = evil etc etc. And also being a matyr they say gives you passage to heaven, and 72 virgins or something. This is entirely up to interpertation, written in Arabic the Quran is vague and there lots of interpertations that can be drived from it. And even so, that wouldn't matter much the people who commit terrible atrocities know how to turn one into a radical by appealing to their faith.
All bloody hypocrites.
cobaltsays...The bible may say "Thou shalt not kill" but it also teaches love, forgiveness and the equal treatment of all peoples. This is hate and discrimination. They are making it hard on the families who did not themselves go to war; should the parents or children suffer fear and guilt for what their loved ones have done (assuming it was wrong in the first place). I'm no christian but I know christian values and I have read the bible cover to cover, no where is this kind of hate promoted.
Farhad2000says...Cobalt I think she's you know.. a bit mental. I think she took the idea of "God does everything because he has a plan" thing kinda far.
Still it makes me sad that the people who go to these wars are the lower classes. Some because of circumstance, some because they are patriotic and others who had no choice. This isn't like Vietnam with the lottery system, where anyone could be picked. The most hawkish of senators would never ever send their own children into battle.
skfortysays...Fox loves bringing on ridiculous fundamentalists and then loves to call them crazy and nutty only to have their own beliefs, agendas, and crazy fundamentalist views seem less nutty in comparison.
"Here at FOX news we are the 'good' christians, not these wacky nut jobs! SEE!"
btw, good luck parsing that sentence. lol
Here is this idiot again on fox.

InvaderSilsays...Yup, someone took too many crazy pills in the womb. Ooops, I hope I'm not smitten for saying that.
peretzsays...Don't tar and feather all of Christianity over a loud lunatic. The Phelps' church only has about 90 members, and most of them are family members. I'm not a Christian, but I know many fine people that are Christians and I think it is over the top to castigate all Christians because of this fringe group.
SnakePlissken, the so-called 10 commandments don't say "don't kill." What they say is "don't murder." There is a clear distinction between those two terms in English, and an even greater distinction between those two terms in Hebrew, the language in which it was written. Criticize any and all the religions that you want, but at least make sure that your criticism is legitimate.
farhad2000, either you are an apologist for jihad or you have just been hoodwinked. Yes, jihad literally means strive or struggle, and when defending the faith from critics, Muslims will tell you that this is all that it means (with a straight face even). But violent jihad is the most prevalent meaning of the term, both today, and through Islamic history. No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad and global conquest through jihad and subjegation, and rarely is the word ever used except as a call to arms.
As hysterical as people get over "right-wing Christian zealots," I still have never heard of a global movement of modern-day Christians calling for worldwide subjegation through the sword. Yet, all around the world, in 19 active conflicts on this planet, Islamists are waging jihad and calling for a global caliphate. Madman Achmedinejad is pursuing nuclear arms and publically states his desire to bring about the apocolypse and the revealing of the "12th Imam." Yet, even the slightest criticism of Islam is met with the quite retarded argument that Islam is the "religion of peace," and that the extremists are just a fringe group. More like the religion of "piece by piece by piece," and it is the "moderates" that are indeed the fringe.
The Pope, who I have no love for whatsoever, gives just a glancing criticism that Islam is violent, and in protest, Muslims the world over burn down churches, riot, and even murder a nun. Guess they showed the Pope just how wrong he was.
In summation, if you're gonna be bigoted, at least direct your bigotry towards Islam and Muslims. Christians are not nearly as much of a threat to the free world as are the jihadists.
lordnullsays..."The road to hell is paved with good intentions" seems particularly potent when talking about religion. When taken in moderation, religion can be beneficial, but then that paves the way for the zeolets.

deputydogsays...I'd love to take her out on a date.
daphnesays...I'm sure the "Squaredance on Everyone Who's Not Like You" Hoedown would be a blast. But I doubt she puts out.
pass.the.grog.says...hannity actually had a good question "what are your sins?" and she couldn't answer it.
swampgirlsays...That expression on her face...I just keep picturing her roaming around nuking everyone with her "Carrie" powers.
daphnesays...
BicycleRepairMansays...Obviously she is insane, but in all honesty, she is actually just following the old testament, I think its equally insane of hannity/colmes/all other christians to say "We are christians!" when they, just like me, find the actual opinions and actions of god as described in the old testament as sickening and appalling. Once again goes to show that thankfully, we dont get our morals from religion, and if we do, we will rightfully be labelled insane.
I guess the old saying is true, when one person is delusional, they call it insanity, when hundreds of people have the same delusion, its religion.
kulpimssays...they don't deserve all this attention, negative as it may be
