^ I feel that way too, though I often feel they're "message-force-multipliers" for the liberal blogs, since rarely do they cover a story that wasn't hot on the blogs earlier that day. Though they often have the most polished presentation of the information, in TV format, and get that information out to people who don't know how to work the inter(tube)nets.
