Cops Cause Accident And Instantly Arrest Victim

The Michigan State Police (MSP) and one of its officers are in hot water after allegedly abusing their authority to frame another driver for an at-fault traffic accident.

A security camera aimed at a road intersection in a southwest Detroit neighborhood captured the moment when a pair of alleged and unidentified MSP officers in an unmarked Jeep Patriot ignored a stop sign and unlawfully crossed the intersection. At that time, 27-year-old Carlos Martinez was driving down the one-way street in a red car when the MSP officer-driven vehicle crossed his path. As a result, the two vehicles collided, sending the Jeep spinning onto the sidewalk.

In the collision, Martinez reportedly suffered scratches and bruises, while the driver of the Jeep sustained a broken rib and collarbone; his passenger reportedly had undisclosed minor injuries. According to statements from Martinez's mother, who was riding with her son, the MSP officer began trying to intimidate them instead of check on their wellbeing.

Meanwhile, the officer who arrested Martinez allegedly tried to protect his identity by not sharing his supervisor's contact information, and confiscated Martinez's phone and license which were not returned.

A cop not being a dick one time doesn't make him a good cop. A cop going on a speaking tour getting applauded over a minor example of humanitarianism pretty much erases the humanitarian part and it becomes a pure self serving PR ploy.

How many criminal cops has he turned in and testified against? That's the test, daily vigilance against his buddies abusing their power, not singular instances of charity he then milks for public relations points.

Pablo Escobar gave tens of millions to the poor. Was he also a good cop? According to your metric, he would be the greatest person ever.
*facepalm

Edit: I'll make it simple for you....any cop that allows fellow officers to get away with breaking the law or abusing their authority is a bad cop, even if they otherwise are above reproach and never abuse their own authority in any other way.

Cops are *supposed* to be good.

That's why the exceptional videos of cops being awful are especially newsworthy (aside from the fact that innocent people who are abused should have their stories told and their innocence proven).

Or maybe there are 100 candid negative cop videos for every planned, produced, and publicized positive cop video.
For example...
