Colorado Police Break Elderly Dementia Patient's Arm

A Colorado police officer has been placed on administrative leave pending investigations for breaking the arm of a 73-year-old dementia patient, who had forgotten to pay for items worth $14 at a Walmart.

The incident took place in June 2020, when Karen Garner was pushed to the ground and handcuffed by an officer of the Loveland Police Department (LPD).

She has filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Loveland as a result.

Moving this video to newtboy's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.

Video has surfaced of this cop and his cohorts watching the footage together at the department and laughing about injuring her horrifically, talking about how much fun it was to forcibly wrestle a feeble old woman, repeatedly throw her to the ground, and try to break her shoulder, how much they LOVE it that she was hurt, repeating excitedly and happily "you hear the pop! I thought I broke her shoulder.....I love it."

No good apples.

this video is probably not an isolated incident either. they felt comfortable having that conversation as if it was standard.

I dont understand why this is not a bigger deal in the US of A.

The land of the free but occasionally tasered, with randomly dislocated shoulders, and sometimes shotgun wounds. Its your country...

a day without your tears is like a day without sunshine. thanks little man.

Thankfully we have Newt for this fine piece of news.

Edit: Girl?

So not reported on Fox, OAN, or Newsmax?
Here’s the follow up video, reported on real news in one of dozens of reports on this incident by main stream news. Maybe time to switch?

You’re welcome

This must make you so happy....she should have complied, right? She got what she deserved, right? 100% her fault....right? The cop had no choice, right? It’s a good thing he enjoyed it so much, right?

They certainly felt comfortable that it wouldn’t get out...comfortable enough to lie about their knowledge of her injuries all the way to the top, now proven to be outright bold faced lies.
It seems they thought the cameras had been turned off.

Can we please all agree that a law enforcement camera system with a working off button is not acceptable? That said, I’m all for fake off buttons that only turn off the red light but continue recording.

I don't understand how she didn't have a caregiver with her. Sounds like there might be more than the cop at fault here.

vilsays...

Its not this one case. It seems to be a complete industry-wide misunderstanding of a job description. Wrong on so many levels.

Because this is America, and she has a mental condition. Duh.

I mean she clearly has something wrong with her and she wasn't confrontational or violent.... not cool to see cops acting recklessly because they are (and are protected by) the "law"

I often go to nursing homes, hospices and peoples homes to do body removals. One thing that always tugs at my heart is to see the deceased with nearly freshly painted fingernails and toenails.

I look at the end of this video with this woman wearing handcuffs and I see her red fingernails and wonder who painted them for her.

surfingytsays...

I noticed that too. It takes a special kind of psychopath to enjoy breaking this lady's arm. May she receive all the monies and this cop receive all the pains.

not a candidate for a police detective.

elderly woman on foot; alongside of a road; in an industrial area!? hell of a long run for granny, if she's on the lam?

got a whole different vibe from the lady other than wanting to kick her keister.

can't imagine walmart is too happy w/the city that they got to be featured in deputy bulldoger's arrest. hee. haw.

luxintenebrissays...

just crying for help.

get it.

for your family, if for anyone.

btw: that 'Newt' appears to be one of the good ones. strangely know quite a few, too.

And hopefully, the entirety of all three pensions goes to the victim. That sounds about right to me. I find it utterly unbelievable that their superiors had no clue...those pensions should go to her as well.

Fucking sociopaths.

surfingytsaid:

that usually means they can still keep their pensions, so this is not over. hopefully they're fired, prosecuted and the stage for a lawsuit is setup.
