Colin McRae RIP

Sir Colin McRae, one of rally racing's greatest drivers ever, just died when his helicopter exploded. This is one of his races, where he crashes but is so quick that he still wins silver.

Jeezus, whatr' the odds? Helicopters are gambling with yer life anyhow....he was probly' safer on the rally courses...Was he flying the chopper?......reading......damn. his boy died, too....foolhardy sumbitch-

I heard that he was the pilot when he crashed the chopper. Apparently there was also his son and two family friends.

yeah i am not normally sentimental, but was upset about this.

a friend quoted him as saying "you don't mess about in a chopper" and he is certainly not a lunatic, so i would discount the "foolhardy" angle, although it is dangerous in a helicopter anyway.

not good news. best to just watch the old clips and smile.
