thesnipesays...I vote we send choggie over there to give them some "ahem" help.
Lurchsays...I thought it was called Engrish. "Demuddling" their signs is going to take away one of my major sources of entertainment.

oxdottirsays...Engrish is for Japan, but Chinglish is for China. I have to admit to finding this kind of humor irresistable.
deedub81says...No, Engrish is for Asia. Chinglish is specific to Japan. We should just head towards the middle ground: Chingrish.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'CNN' to 'CNN, Engrish' - edited by deedub81
Lurchsays...Actually, after checking the faq on Engrish.com for the answer:
"Q. What is Engrish?
A. Engrish can be simply defined as the humorous English mistakes that appear in Japanese advertising and product design."
So, there you have it. I guess they just branched out over time since they occasionally have mistakes from all over Asia.
"Q. Is Engrish found only in Japan?
A. No, Engrish can be found all over the world, but the vast majority of the really funny and creative Engrish is from Japan. The webmaster has seen many examples of Engrish from around the world, but most are not fit for Engrish.com (ie – they are not funny enough). People are invited to send in Engrish from other countries (including the US) - if some really good examples come in, Engrish.com will be happy to post them."

oxdottirsays...My blog post with a funny pertinent sign.
calvadossays...I saw a sign in Hong Kong: "BROWNIES: Buy 3 Get 1". Not a good deal.
lullaby_lunesays...I love Engrish! I wouldn't want them to take it away...
sometimessays...I saw a menu at a Korean joint here in the US that had
chicken fried rice
beef fried rice
bbq pork fried rice
grandma fried rice

10385says...Chinglish is, as I've always known, the language of the American/Canadian-Chinese. It's not really a deficient version of English, but more of a mish-mash of the two languages spoken by people who are fluent in both. Sort of like Frenglish or Spanglish.
"Chin" != Japan.
Engrish I'd say is the more accurate term.
Also, HURRY UP THE CAKES ftw.

I haven't been to engrish.com in a long time, but this is still my favorite:

oxdottirsays...See Wikipedia for support to both our positions. To quote the start of the article (which has many signs of the type in my video):
