A tribute performance for the work of Bulat, here playing perhaps his famous song, Your Excellency Lady Luck featrued in the classic Russian film White Sun of the Desert. Which is ritualy watched by outgoing cosmonauts.
Bulat Okudzhava was one of the founders of the Russian genre called "author's song". He was the author of about 200 songs, set to his own poetry. His songs are a mixture of Russian poetic and folksong traditions and the French chansonnier style represented by such contemporaries of Okudzhava as Georges Brassens. Though his songs were never overtly political (in contrast to those of some of his fellow "bards"), the freshness and independence of Okudzhava's artistic voice presented a subtle challenge to Soviet cultural authorities, who were thus hesitant for many years to give official sanction to Okudzhava as a singer-songwriter.

Farhad2000says...Your Excellency, Lady Separation
We've been family for so long, that's how it is.
Wait, don't tear the letter in the envelop.
So unlucky in death, I'll be luckier in love.
Your Excellency Lady Foreign Land
Embracing me so warmly, but you never loved.
Wait, don't catch me in your sweet nets,
So unlucky in death, I'll be luckier in love.
Your Excellency, Lady Luck
For some you are so nice, for others not so much.
Wait, Heart, don't call the 9 grams to you (*)
So unlucky in death, I'll be luckier in love.
Your Excellency Lady Victory
This means that I didn't finish signing my song yet.
Stop, you demons, swearing on blood.
So unlucky in death, I'll be luckier in love.
* 9 grams refers to the weight of a bullet.
