This is gopro footage from inside an operating nuclear reactor. It's a little bit long because this is just the raw footage which Alex Landress was originally going to leave marked as a private vid, but I'm glad he didn't.
For the impatient, the action is at 1:40 for startup, 5m for the increase from 500kW to 1MW, and a bit before 8m for the shutdown.
I liked the blue glow and watched all of it with the sound on :)

GoPro footage of the Penn State research reactor. The sound is pretty annoying during the sped up section of the video. Recommend just turning sound off. If you choose to listen to the sound, the hum is from the nitrogen-16 pump which hangs from the tower.

I didn't expect to get so much interest on this video! I actually meant to make the video private...
If this continues to get interest I would be happy to make more videos of the reactor and radiation in general. I enjoy teaching people and changing minds about nuclear power and other technologies.
