Got an hour to kill? Watch Breaking the Taboo, a documentary about the global war on drugs. It’s awfully persuasive, but that may be due to the fact that it’s narrated by God…er…Morgan Freeman.

From YT: Narrated by Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman, "Breaking the Taboo" is produced by Sam Branson's indie Sundog Pictures and Brazilian co-production partner Spray Filmes and was directed by Cosmo Feilding Mellen and Fernando Grostein Andrade. Featuring interviews with several current or former presidents from around the world, such as Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, the film follows The Global Commission on Drug Policy on a mission to break the political taboo over the United States led War on Drugs and expose what it calls the biggest failure of global policy in the last 40 years.

I was surprised that 10 states had changed the laws surrounding drug regulation in 79, and then got reversed (fuck you, Nancy Reagan).
Was glad they mentioned the prison element as well, at least a little bit, because I definitely see conflicts of interest when for-profit prisons directly benefit from drug regulation.

and it's not even close.
