geo321I'm going to miss Bill Moyers. He's going to leave a big void of densely informative journalism on PBS.

therealblankman*COMMUNISM!
rottenseed...well there you go "trickle downers", you've been given the ability to open your wings and soar, allowing you to bring the rest of America with you, yet it seems the only trickle down we've received is a white turd on our blue collars...
honkeytonk73USA = Demopublican Plutocratic Kleptocracy
L0ckysays...This isn't an American problem, it's true of all countries with 'market-friendly' governments, including here in the UK.
Although most rational people agree it's a very bad thing (apart from the "trickle downers" as rottenseed said) I currently don't see that much civil protest; but at the same time it's impossible for this characteristic of western society to last forever.
I'm curious to see how long it will last, and I'm worried it will outlast our lifetimes.

Not terribly dissimilar to the problems in France that resulted in the French revolution. Eventually a disenfranchised lower class, lacking any other alternative, will resort to violence to try and bring the system back in to alignment. In the US, they would not only outnumber them significantly but would also be better armed... =)
Let them eat Twinkies?
L0ckysays...I was actually thinking of the French Revolution too. The difference between then and now is it's relatively cheap to keep everyone fed and mildly entertained. Let them eat Twinkies indeed.
It's election day in the UK today and the front page of The Sun has announced which party they believe is the most market-friendly. It wasn't that long ago that a newspaper would be afraid to post a front page like this.

Unfortunately The Sun is the UK's best selling tabloid and the paper's bias throughout the campaign will have a large influence. I know someone like Fox News wears it's affiliations on it's sleeve but I don't recall them ever being this explicit in telling you who to vote for.
It's insulting.
