moonsammysays...I did not expect to laugh at this, but oh MAN!
newtboyjokingly says...I agree….little girls are very much like proto-human/apes.
cloudballoonsays...OK. This is hands down the Trailer of the Decade material, no doubt. No freaking way as a happily-married dude nearing 50yo planned to see this movie in anyway, but now I'm intrigued. Don't care if people calls me a creep, I'm going IN.

moonsammysays...I'm optimistic that the level of creativity and humor presented in the teaser means the team behind the movie has their collective head screwed on straight. The teasers / trailers that worry me are the ones that are just quick cuts of various action scenes and striking landscapes - leaning too heavily on visuals gives me serious misgivings about the writing. When teasers give a taste but legitimately *tease* us (the Matrix is a good example, or the first teaser for LotR) that seems to generally be a great sign.

antsays...Yep. The teaser might not even be in the movie too. I remember when Austin Powers 2's trailer was funny with its Star Wars spoof as shown in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vRrZiMQl4k. That was such a teaser!

cloudballoonsays...I STILL have no expectation for the movie. I don't see Margot Robbie as a good cast for the stereotypical "Barbie" character unless the movie's a spoof, unlike her role as Harley Quinn which as 100% genius.
But as a trailer -- the purpose of which is to hype up the fanbase AND pull people in to see a movie they otherwise might not -- this one's totally winning eyeballs IMO. Totally deliver more than any other trailers I've seen for many, many years.

antsays...Exactly. I'm still not planning to see it UNLESS people love it.

moonsammysays...I'd totally forgotten about that one, but definitely saw it attached to something at the time. Of course in retrospect Phantom Menace would NOT be the #1 movie from 1999 to have watched, and neither it or Austin Powers 2 would even be in my top 5. We had Matrix, South Park, American Beauty, Fight Club, Sixth Sense, Iron Giant, Being John Malkovitch, The Mummy, Ghost Dog... so many good movies that year!
