Avril Lavigne - Adia

Sarah Mclachlan cover at the Roxy Theater, Hollywood.

Man, for me this is an example about why some people shouldn't cover other people. This just makes me think way less of Avril. It's like when I've various people try to cover Aretha. Not that Sara is Aretha.

But man, this feels shallow and pointless.

Tripple ick. I think this will permanently impair my ability to enjoy Avril.

She's like, so whatever. What the hell was she thinking in going along on this vid? There are no winners in this video. No wonder the morning show on the local alt-rock station (102.1 the Edge) has her on their hate-list. That, and the spitting on people incident.

Having said all that, is she playing both girls in that vid? I'm no good at recognizing people in costumes.

Although I must admit that the girl-on-girl version of "Girlfriend" is amusing as a concept, and significantly less obnoxious, from the video POV.

I thought she did a fantastic job. I enjoyed it.

I'm ashamed to admit (but less so as I get older) that I really like Avril's music and always have. Great voice, catchy songs, and pretty face. What's not to like.

Don't know if it struck anyone else, but in this video she totally looks like Veronica Mars (aka. Kristen Bell and now aka. Elle in Heroes) who also happens to be a great singer.
