Avian wave - The Starlings on Ot Moor, England

Be amazed at the flocking behavior of starlings at Ot Moor, near Oxford, England. Thousands of them swarm together on winter evenings and move in unison, creating a stunning, wave-like effect. It's absolutely beautiful.

My God. This is absolutely amazing. The sheer volume of this mass of birds--all creating such immeasurably organic orchestration--is profound. I've seen large flocks of Canadian geese where I've lived, doing their migration thing... their V's and their flocks are impressive, but this... this is a whole different level of organic complexity. I'm blown away. Though I disagree that this flocking "should be impossible" as the narrator says, I am still impressed by the beauty of it. Such behavior should be expected, but seeing it is a whole different thing. WOW.
