Can any English sifters verify the validity of this conversation?

I think most of it's valid. That type of slang (Cockney rhyming slang) is based on rhymes, so they use phrases like "trouble and strife" to mean wife, "apples and pears" means stairs, and "pork pies" means lies. Some of it really was just ???? though, to me at least.

Nope, cockney rhyming slang, but you don't normally hear it in such a concentrated comedy cascade!

Yep most of that is rhyming cockney. And it's not all straight rhymes either. When Michal Caine calls Mike Myers "My old china", he actually calls him "mate".

"My old china" -> "My old (china) plate" <-> "My old mate"
