Aaron's Last Wish - A $500 Tip For Pizza

YouTube Description:
My brother passed away June 7, 2012. His final wish in his will, if he left enough money, was that we have pizza and give the waiter or waitress a $500 tip. Aaron never had much money , and he didn't have enough to make this happen, so I started a website and took donations. On June 10 we were able to make his wish come true for the first time.

We think he just wanted to provide a random act of kindness and generosity for someone he thought was under appreciated; the kind of thing that would make a lasting impact they would never forget. If you want to keep his legacy going, please feel free to donate. So far we have collected over $1000 so we will definitely be doing this again, for another random waiter or waitress, very soon! Each time we have $500 we will do it again, even if that means going out to eat multiple times a day.

For someone who has worked as a waiter and a cook this is the ultimate act of kindness and they couldn't have picked a better waitress to share this with. For her to offer to give the kitchen and the rest of the staff part of it just made me smile. Good for them, good for her. And what a way to make sure you are never forgotten even by strangers.

I think tipping is such bullshit. I don't give a fuck what you earn. if your job doesn't pay you enough that you have to effectively rely on charity then get another fucking job. Nobody tips the mcdonalds or burger king staff. They work just as hard for just as little.
Why the hell should I have to pay over the odds for what was already a grossly overpriced meal? I don't earn a huge amount myself and the cultural pressure to tip makes me bloody angry. If anything a tip should be for exceptional service. A flat rate on top just means your prices are higher. Why not raise your prices and pay your fucking staff a decent wage?

Waitresses never tip the kitchen.

My first job ever was as a busboy/dishwasher at a French restaurant. Waiters and waitresses all tipped the kitchen. Not a lot, but an extra ten, fifteen bucks a night was pretty awesome when I was 15.

Agree about raising prices and paying staff a decent wage. However, don't blame the server, blame the system. Minimum wage in Kentucky (Burger King) is $7.25. Minimum Wage for TIPPED staff is $2.13.

I'm not an American so I only presume I'm reading that right. So McDonalds staff might work as hard (or harder), but it's not for just as little.

I worked as a busboy at a casino buffet for a short time in between jobs (worst job ever btw). I guess because it was a buffet or a casino or both, but the waitresses had to pool tips and share a percentage with the other staff. Waitresses there also made minimum wage like everyone else, unlike at restaurants that pay lower wages to waitresses.

That's cute. They work nowhere near as hard as a waitress or bartender. Fairly obvious that you're a disgruntled worker at Burger King who's mad about their situation. Thank you, come again...

Tipping is technically optional (some places add it for large groups). Why don't you move to Australia where tipping isn't practiced? What you fail to realize is that some people make BELOW minimum wage and are expected to make up the difference in tips. I once had a job that payed 4$ under minimum wage legally.
