GeeSussFreeKsays...Interesting that he didn't drop the back gear till they were at about 5k feet but he dropped the front gear at 17k. I guess the amount of wheels in the back ruin the flight characteristics enough that they don't do that till the final leg. Anywho, never seen a flight from that perspective before so it gets my vote!
EMPIREsays...I can't believe I just watched the whole video. I was mesmerized.
Videos like these always make me so appreciative of technology.
That amazing winged metal giant soaring is truly beautiful.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...I'm in UR nose wheel, watching U land.
rich_magnetsays...I don't know why they opted for a lens made of jelly on that nosegear camera. A solid one would have looked better.
Seriously, though, what's going on with the video? Is the camera subject to high-frequency vibration and the camera uses a rolling-shutter CMOS sensor? Makes for a disconcerting effect to be sure.
Hybridsays...Nothing accompanies a graceful video combining technology and nature, better than the beats of mainstream dance music.
Hybridsays...btw @demon_ix, this is a Boeing 747-200F, not an A380. It's in the description of his making of video.
Bruti79says...I knew they needed a lot of runway before, but wow...those suckers chew up a lot of runway =)

I knew something didn't look right. As I was watching I thought the A380 had more wheels than that. Thanks for linking the making of video, that answers my other question as to how they lowered the nose gear separately.
jimnmssays...Why is the quote not working? It looks fine in preview.
demon_ixsays...@Hybrid: Thanks. Changed title and tags. Shame I can't change the URL though

Sometimes Siftbot is smoking teh crack.
Try editing it then saving, sometimes goes away on it's own.
The reason the text appears "Air France A380" is probably because at the time of the video, they were the new-new thing, and an Air France A380 was sitting at the gates in the background as the 747 turns at 0:43. The video slows down too, to give a long look. Kind of a "OOO OOO LOOK LOOK!!!" moment.

You could re-submit the video with the correct URL, then do a dupeof on this video to transfer the votes. Would that work?
burdturglersays...No. Nice idea but, you can not transfer votes to a newer video.
*dupeof only goes in one direction .. to the original submission.
Lodurrsays...Ah the A380 was just in the background under the left wing. I should've known, I used to be a "pushback dude" at my airport job and pushed plenty of 747s. I'm just not used to seeing one so clean.

siftbotsays...Awarding chingalera with one Power Point for fixing this video's dead embed code.
