ponceleonsays...*quality
Loved it... though I feel like the dodo was perhaps the least ridiculous of the ones mentioned. While they are extinct and have been for a few hundred years, it is conceivable to think they might have been around during the photographic era since you can see them stuffed in many museums and whatnot...
Still awesome little animation.
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by ponceleon.
rottenseedsays...This is an awesome video. It's so abstract yet fluid. I forgot I was even watching a stop motion animation.
thinker247says...If I wanted a picture of a living dodo, I would first look them up online and see when they died out. A little research before asking for a photo would help everyone involved.

Skeevesays...Exactly. Least ridiculous? There was more than 125 years between the extinction of the Dodo and the first photograph. At least there have been "sightings" of Yetis (not to mention Jesus) since the invention of photographs.

rychansays...Least ridiculous is clearly "pictures of dogfights above London, the Battle of Britain" because that footage EXISTS! See this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0-fVLCnsBs
These newsreels contain footage of German formations from the ground (1:00) as well as in air footage from the fighters as a German bomber is shot down (6:15).
Ok, to be pedantic, I don't know if it's above London, and it's not great quality. But gun cameras were widespread in World War 2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_camera
So it's not at all a ridiculous request.
NinjaInHeatsays...Gorgeous...
BicycleRepairMansays...So.. where is that photo of Jesus?
sholesays...there's loads of pictures and video of WW2 dog fights

edit; damn, thought i was first to point it out.. posting a comment on an old open window
oh, and also something else that's interesting..
the US had by the end of the war remote controlled missiles that sent live video back to the controller
i don't know if any footage or pictures of it exist anymore, but it's pretty damn cool considering how early it was even for radio
never got a chance to test them in action though

Didn't you see it at 5:47? I'm impressed he delivered.
jwraysays...Stupid journalists and advertisers. Who else would be a client of Getty?
robbersdog49says...Brilliant animation. Lewd Darwin secured my vote!
cybrbeastsays...Maybe not an active dogfight but
