An excellent documentary on the effects of a nuclear attack on Britain, produced in 1982. Many of the scenes were re-used for Threads, a drama on the same subject (1984).

I finally watched this in its entirety. Based on the first 10 minutes or so, I'd figured the whole thing would be masochistic to watch ("flying glass flaying pumpkin"-type stuff all the way through) -- so, for months I went without viewing the whole thing. The last two-thirds were really interesting though (mainly the building of various types of shelters at various distances from ground zero, and then testing to see how they'd fare) and not merely depressing.

Although it *is* depressing, as well it should be. Well done however.
