blankfistooooOOOOOooooo, look at that shiny new Downunder Channel Tag!
spoco2That is one seriously tame brush tail possum.
Rarely will you ever see one that willing to let someone touch it, raised by people perhaps?
My parents have a host of wild ones that come by for nibbles of a night, but you're lucky if you can get the briefest of touches of them while you hand over the food.

EDDIssykitty, I have now officially subscribed to your videos.
Now I only need an automated upvote script.

Nope. I believe we are one of only a few countries that don't have rabies.
joedirtWTF. A possum is a rat and very scary.
That thing must be australian. And probably a marsupial. Is there an aussie "possum"?

IssykittyPossums are NOT scary, especially the one in this video. The ones I've known just lumber along very slowly, and they are quite harmless. I guess if you are going to categorize these as huge rats (which they're NOT) and you're afraid of rats, you will be afraid. Did the one in that picture try to eat you? LOL
Yes, they are marsupials, and yes this is in Australia.
elyssesays...joe has got to be talking about the american possum:

which i will wholly concur with him on. they are not only scary looking, but they hiss, are about the size of an adult raccoon or cat, and are just downright unpleasant in demeanor.
i'd GLADLY invite one of the aussie possums in my house, but the ones around my house? not so much.
CrosswordsSurvival of the fittest in Australia takes either one of two paths, being unbelievably cute, or being unbelievably venomous.
supersaiyan93The American opossum (America's ONLY marsupial, btw) is an incredibly stupid and occasionally mean-spirited animal, especially if cornered. Also, they don't carry rabies as their body temperatures (94-97 degrees F) are too low for them to be effective carriers. Any mammal can get rabies, but it is extremely rare in possums.
