"60 Minutes" Interview with Bob Dylan

This interview from 2004 was the first televised interview Dylan had done in over 20 years. As the late Ed Bradley says: "What you will see is pure Dylan; mysterious, elusive, fascinating. Just like his music."

I don't like it either, but it should be noted that Bob got asked, in the mid 60s, what might tempt him to 'sell out'. He reportedly answered "ladies undergarments and Cadillac!". At least that's how I remember the story.

The conversation between about 2 and 3 and a half minutes in was interesting. I'm more impressed that he recognizes his limitations than I would have been with any false claims that he still had the magic. Some things just happen in their own time and at the time he was hooked into the heartbeat of the American youth so he could express what they felt in a way that others couldn't do.

Now it's someone else's turn, impressive to me that he sees and admits it not just to himself but us as well.
