I could see something like this going a long way towards streamlining game design, imagine all the time wasted making all the knickknacks you see in games like Skyrim. Hell, maybe even building a room directly off an illustration.
If this is all just fake then can those involved please burn in hell.

oh god and to think all the hours I spent modelling things in c4d and 3dsmax.

It's not bad. Looks to me like you might have to re--texture a few things to get it to work well.

but simply amazing. photo realism editing will be insane. You can never trust an digital image again.

What do you think of the lighting effects? I'm no expert, i was just wondering if that's taken into account - i admit i may have missed a mention of that on the commentary as i wasn't listening that intently,

This IS awesome. It may choke on low contrast photos of stuff with shadows, but for my use I would take my own high contrast very high resolution shots. The higher res you can perform this at the higher the accuracy on the models.

It seems like a great way to quickly build a lot of fairly simple objects including a base texture. There would still be a lot of work to do, since this appears to only create a color layer (specular, bump/normal, and luminosity would still need to be created) and it lacks fine details in the model which some uses would require.
