1937 (French) Apache Dance by Lucienne and Ashour

From a 1937 film by The Crazy Gang. Lucienne and Ashour perform the Apache Dance (ah-PAHSH).

Originating in the early 20th century Parisian street culture, the Apache dance is said to reenact a violent encounter between a pimp and a prostitute. The Apache dance is a violent, energetic and darkly beautiful reflection of the culture it represented.
