19 New Species of Fern Named After Lady Gaga

Researchers at Kathaleen Pryer's lab at Duke University, all of whom are big Lady Gaga fans, were inspired by one of her costumes to name a genus of ferns after her. The costume was styled after a "bisexual" part of a newly-identified fern. This fern, part of a genus all of which share the GAGA gene, is one of 19 newly-named ferns to bear her name. Hence, genus Gaga. For all LGBTQ plants out there, you've been science'd.
