Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Actual Gameplay

kranzfakfa says...

Instead of having to deal with 50 more button combinations for jumping between covers, how about this: you peek around a corner IN FIRST PERSON, wait for the guy to turn his back and then sneak to the next cover. And maybe when you climb ladders, you can climb them at your own pace, maybe even stop in the middle of them IN FIRST PERSON instead of waiting for some shitty animation to end all the while some guy maybe shoots you in the back when you're helpless. And hey, when I punch a guy in the head to knock him out, maybe I can punch him myself IN FIRST PERSON.

It's not like this hasn't all been done before. Either be Deus Ex or be Assassin's Creed, asshole devs.

RAGE - The Well Official Gameplay Trailer

Anyone else noticed the boxes the guy picks up at 6:50? "Quayola Crayons, 64 Shades of Brown" and "Pinkies, 10 individually wrapped snacks".

In other matters, I hope ID has finally learned how to tell a story and build characters, they are fast running out of new shades of brown to show the world.

F-22 Raptor.

I've always wondered, what's the difference between the F-22 and the F-35?
They look pretty similar, is it all an internal difference?

One is a 150 million dollar flying turd, and the other is a 120 million dollar flying turd. Also, all that stealth technology sure will come in handy fighting third world guerrilla armies who don't even know what the hell is a radar.

And even if they weren't a giant waste of money already, drone aircraft will soon dominate the skies. They are cheaper and, not needing a meatbag inside, means they can also be much faster and meaner.

Real Cannibals discuss the person they ate and why

This has some very interesting parallels with legends like vampires. Mysterious illness caused by a predatory and dangerous mystical creature that attacks when no one is watching. The difference is you don't just kill it, you must also consume it to take back what it stole.

Who knows, maybe in 300 years these guys will be writing novels about sorcerers that sparkle in daylight and "eat" easily impressed female teens...

Very cool. Any information on evolutionary changes from the current day species, or are these guys like sharks, who never seem to have the need to adapt?

The closest current species is Heteropoda venatoria from the Gulf states of USA. There are no major differences as far as I can tell - same number of eyes, same number of tarsal claws (2), and the genitalia (this is a male) seems similar, though only the dorsal view is shown - the ventral side is needed for a definitive ID.
Spiders do change a good bit, but 49 million years isn't an enormous amount of time given that they've been around for about 400 million years. They largely developed into creatures similar to today's spiders far before 49 mya.

Thanks for the answer and props to you for knowing what spider genitalia is supposed to look like, good sir. I searched a bit for myself but all I found was more general information about spider evolution from some kind of underwater crab. Then again, what didn't evolve from some kind of underwater crab?

Milton Friedman and the Miracle of Chile

kranzfakfa says...

There aren't enough downvotes. My own country suffered a dictatorship not too long ago and sooner or later there are always people who show up saying:

"There were some minor problems but we were better with glorious leader."

"Then what about all the tortured people, the wars, the misery of so many, barely with enough to eat, no health, no education, no future?"

"Well, I was all good with it, so fuck you and your well documented suffering."

War On Democracy is great at exposing the kind of people that approve of this kind of regime. Entitled rich vampires that think the world was made for them and their family to shit on and distant armchair general intellectuals that imagine the whole world to be some kind of thought experiment made just to test their ridiculous ideas on.

Also, blankfist, I find it enormously hilarious that you think it's right and proper for the US to stay the fuck out but then conveniently forget that if not for interventionism, there would be no Pinochet to obey the dictates of the States, no so called "miracle". Chile would be Socialist and on Allende's path to provide jobs, health and education to the masses.

Kid freaks out while playing Dead Space 2

I know Continental Portuguese, not Brazilian Portuguese, but here goes:

- Unintelligible.
- Come... Not gonna get any closer, gonna wait.
- No, you go (Unintelligible again, the guy speaks too fast for me to understand).
- Take, take, take the money, damnit... I'm not going below, man.
Hey kid! Hey kid! (Expression like Oh shit!)
The bug is coming! The bug is coming, dude! The bug is coming...
And he charges, son of a whore... And he charges... How do I duck?
- No ducking, he just runs.
- Is the bug coming or not? The bug ran away, man. Is the bug coming or not?
- Unintelligible.
- The bug is coming! Oh no... Killed me, man, tore my head off.
- You have to take revenge.
- Eh, take revenge...
- Awesome.
- Take revenge, man.
- You take it for me.
